Designing for a start-up

When I first started at Swyftx the majority of the branding had come straight from a free Wordpress template. The market had slowly shifted from a bear to a bull market and Swyftx was making massive strides in both revenue and employee growth.

Myself and the marketing team were hired to create a more concise, unique branding that still took elements from the existing designs. Over the next 12 months I was given the opportunity to not only influence the direction of the brands designs but also create for an amazing amount big budget promotions including youtube pre-roll ads, the app itself and advertisement on both NRL and Supercars.

Branding

The style of Swyftx branding needed to be simple, fun and approachable. Dealing with the fintech industry, particularly crypto - we wanted to create something that didn’t appear too high-tech and complicated as the general consensus around crypto at the time was the it seemed confusing, and confused people don’t trust you with their money.

Illustrations

One of the highlights of my time at Swyftx was creating adhoc illustrations to be used on the app, emails and website. Doing the illustrations in-house as opposed to relying on stock graphics allowed us to create a consistent visual style that furthered the ‘simple and approachable’ design we were going for.

Sponsored podcast

Tapping into Crypto was a podcast that was created and recorded in house to help Australians navigate the crypto space.

Although it was sponsored (and created) by us, we wanted it to be its own thing, independent from the Swyftx. The design of the cover needed to standout from the endless sea of dark/techy looking crypto podcast covers and align closer to the ‘fun’ and ‘easy’ personal finance look.

Landing Pages and Website designs

Website

The website create needed to utilise the existing Wordpress template that already existed for the company. This allowed for easy and fast updating of graphics (app screen constantly updating in UI), and having minimum affect on SEO.

Swyftx-learn

The learn microsite acted as an educational blog/article site complete with quizzes and interactive elements to help customers and users better educate themselves on all things web3.

Careers site

With the company growing as fast as it was at the time and new features and services being added all the time, pages needed to be created in a way that could grow with the brand.
